Direction: The NMB worked closely with Wendy’s for years to successfully put fresh mango on the first Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) menu. I created a press release for this exciting industry announcement. I worked closely with the NMB’s Foodservice lead to fully understand how the summer mango salad came to inception. Once the release had been created, we worked closely with USDA and Wendy’s team to reach approval. In addition to the press release, Wendy’s and the NMB partnered to host a media day at Twitter in NYC. We chose the theme, “Mangos Around the Word,” along with the menu items, which included Wendy’s Strawberry Mango Salad.

Deliverables: Press release for industry audience. Attended the media to promote the mango message and Wendy’s Strawberry Mango Salad using Mexican themed mango flower cart, mango salsa bar, mango drinks, and and image gallery of mangos depicted around the world. Media outlets included NBC News, AOL, The Kitchn, The Food Network and POPSUGAR.
